The Japanese Diet was completed in 1936. The principal architects were
Watanabe Fukuzo (who won a public competition in 1918 for the design
of a new parliament for Japan) and Takeuchi Shinshichi (whose pro-
posal, although it came came third in the competition, included the
design of the 65-metre tower exterior and interior views of
which are seen in the two photographs above).
